I grew up in New York and received a BFA at Loyola University in Chicago. I have lived in San Francisco for 12 ,years working for various jewelers where I learned most of my skills. It is hard for me to pin point my inspiration, but I can get fixated on shape and play with it a lot, the latest being a teardrop shape. I also tend to focus on one stone for awhile, lately rubies. I like movement in jewelry, and use hinges and jump rings so components can move nicely. I think my work is sometimes modern, the circle elements have a machined, turned look. But I also feel the work has organic qualities, with the teardrop shapes and the dark oxidation patina on many of the pieces. I like my jewelry to be very versatile, jewelry someone feels comfortable wearing casually, but also feels dressy enough for a special occasion. |
