Owen McInerney was born and reared in Ireland but moved to San Francisco 15 years ago. He’s had an interest in handcrafts and in particular metalwork from an early age. After a career in software he has now dedicated himself to metalsmithing. Each piece created is individually handmade, with a particular attention to detail.
His designs are influenced by what he sees around him in the everyday. Shape, color, texture, content, material composition and position, are all important to him, whether it's a tall building or a tiny pebble on the beach. Many of his designs are influenced by nature; above ground, in the skies and below the sea! Collecting washed-up treasures on a beach or seeds in the park are favorite pastimes of his.
